Female Driver Pronounced Dead after Cement Mixer Collision near Pioneer Parkway

YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ (June 18, 2024) – One woman was killed Wednesday afternoon, in a cement-truck collision on Williamson Valley Road and Pioneer Parkway.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:00 p.m., on June 5th.

Investigators report that a vehicle was stopped in the northbound lanes when another vehicle attempted to pass it. The two vehicles collided, causing one to veer into the path of a nearby cement truck. The cement truck then crashed into a guardrail, while one of the cars came to rest on the dirt shoulder.

Paramedics airlifted the driver of one of the vehicles to Deer Valley Hospital with critical injuries. The driver’s wife, who was in the passenger seat, succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.

Following initial investigations, officers did not suspect impairment as a factor in the collision. The investigation into the cement truck crash on Williamson Valley Road is ongoing as authorities work to gather more information.
