Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision near Willow Pass Road

PLEASANT HILL, CA (June 19, 2024) – One woman was killed Sunday afternoon, in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 680.

Police officers responded to the scene around 2:07 p.m., along the southbound lanes of I-680, just south of Willow Pass Road.

According to the initial investigation, the driver of a gray Acura lost control of the vehicle while speeding. The Acura then collided with a black BMW 320i. After the collision, the Acura driver fled the scene on foot and was last seen heading towards the Homewood Suites in Pleasant Hill.

Emergency personnel transported the female driver of the BMW to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The dog inside her vehicle was unharmed and was later released to the victim’s relatives.

The CHP is requesting anyone who witnessed the crash to contact their offices. Additional details about the hit-and-run accident on Interstate 680 will be provided as they become available.
