Rider Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig vs Motorcycle Crash near Winchester Road

TEMECULA, CA (July 19, 2023) – Thursday evening, a motorcyclist was killed in a semi-truck collision on Interstate 15. Officers responded to the scene around 6:15 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Winchester Road on July 13th. Per reports, the 76-year-old rider of a Harley-Davidson was traveling in between the No.3 and No.4 lane when the motorcycle became lodged underneath a semi-truck. The semi-truck driver was unaware that he struck the victim and continued driving. As a result, the rear of the semi-truck ran over the motorcyclist and killed him. The driver continued traveling without stopping. No license plate was recorded. However, a witness told police that the big rig had “Pan American Cargo” painted on it. Authorities blocked the northbound lanes for two hours for cleanup duties and preliminary investigation. No other details were released and anyone with information is urged to call the Temecula CHP Office at 951-506-2000.
