30-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on Center Street

ARLINGTON, TX (June 19, 2024) – One man died early Sunday morning, in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on West Pioneer Parkway and Center Street.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m., on June 9th.

According to reports, the driver of a black Honda Civic was traveling east when they struck a man crossing the intersection. Following the impact, the driver fled the scene without providing assistance or contacting police.

The Arlington Police Department arrived and found the 30-year-old man down on the road. Due to the severity of his injuries, medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased man has not yet been released by authorities.

Police later found the vehicle, but the suspect was not inside. Witnesses reported that the suspect entered a nearby building.

At this time, no arrests have been made as officers have not yet identified the driver. The investigation into the fatal pedestrian collision on West Pioneer Parkway is ongoing.
