Man Pronouncded Dead after Multi-Traffic Collision near Fremont Boulevard Off-Ramp

FREMONT, CA (June 20, 2024) – One man died Wednesday night, in a six-car accident on northbound Interstate 880.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:19 p.m., near the Fremont Boulevard south off-ramp.

Investigators are currently examining the circumstances of the incident, which reportedly involved a collision between six vehicles in the area.

Medics pronounced a 56-year-old man from Newark dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. His identity has not yet been disclosed to the public. No other injuries were reported from the crash.

California Highway Patrol officers reopened the northbound lanes on Thursday morning.

Fremont officials will provide more information about the fatal six-vehicle crash on Interstate 880 as it becomes available.
