2 Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Bardsley Avenue

TULARE, CA (June 25, 2024)Jose Encizo and Emanuel Montoya were arrested Saturday morning, after a deadly DUI crash on South O Street.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m., near O Street on June 15th.

Reports state that a 2005 Nissan Sentra and a 2015 Hyundai Sonata collided in the area, causing the Nissan to be pushed into a nearby Burger King drive-thru.

During initial investigations, officers discovered that the Hyundai had been reported stolen in Visalia. Consequently, police detained three boys near the Hyundai.

Authorities arrested the 17-year-old driver from Goshen for driving under the influence and booked him into juvenile hall.

Additionally, they arrested and charged his passengers, 18-year-old Jose Alfredo Encizo from Tulare and 18-year-old Emanuel Montoya from Goshen, with possession of a stolen vehicle.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the 35-year-old male driver of the Nissan dead at the scene. They also transported his 43-year-old passenger to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Emanuel Montoya also required medical assistance.

Officials have not yet provided any additional information about the crash, but they will release more details once available.
