Two Drivers Killed in Wrong-Way Collision near East Grayson Road
TURLOCK, CA (June 18, 2024) – Jesus Hernandez-Perez and Dominique Cardenas died Saturday afternoon, in a head-on collision on Geer and East Grayson Road.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. For reasons under investigation, a southbound 2013 Lexus crossed over the double yellow lines. The wrong-way vehicle then struck an oncoming 1996 Toyota sedan, head-on.
Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel pronounced both drivers deceased. The Lexus driver was identified as 25-year-old Cardenas, of Turlock and the Toyota driver was identified as 36-year-old Hernandez-Perez, of Modesto.
During clearing operations, authorities suspected that intoxication played a factor in the collision. However, more details will be provided once available.
