53-Year-Old Riverdale Man Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Kamm Avenue

FRESNO, CA (June 24, 2024) – Consuelo Cordova De Hernandez died Monday afternoon in a semi-truck crash on Jameson and Kamm Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m.

Investigators report that a westbound commercial semi-truck on Kamm Avenue collided with a Chevrolet SUV.

According to investigators, the semi-truck had the right of way, and the SUV driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection. The collision’s impact caused the semi-truck and its trailer to overturn.

Responding emergency personnel pronounced the SUV driver dead at the scene. The coroner’s office later identified the deceased driver as 53-year-old Consuelo Cordova De Hernandez of Riverdale.

Paramedics transported the semi-truck driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Fresno officials do not suspect alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
