39-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Gundry Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (June 20, 2024)Benjamen Golonsky died Friday evening, in a pedestrian crash on Carson Street and Gundry Avenue. Police officers responded to the scene around 10:40 p.m., just east of Orange Avenue. Reports indicate that a vehicle heading east on Carson Street hit a man who was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, paramedics pronounced the pedestrian, 39-year-old Benjamen Golonsky, deceased. Investigators do not believe intoxication, speed, or distracted driving contributed to the collision. Anyone with further information about the pedestrian accident is urged to contact local authorities promptly.
