One Dead, Four Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Collision near Alisos Canyon Road

LOS ALAMOS, CA (June 19, 2024) – One person died Thursday afternoon, and four were injured in a head-on collisoin on northbound Highway 101.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m., near Alisos Canyon Road.

Per reports, a southbound vehicle veered into the northbound lanes, colliding with an oncoming vehicle. Responding units from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department pronounced one person dead at the scene.

Paramedics transported an adult woman and an infant to Marian Regional Medical Center with major injuries. Two others were treated for moderate injuries at the same hospital.

The CHP temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to allow a medical helicopter to land at the scene. Los Alamos officials will provide more information as it becomes available.
