4 Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near Hougue Road

DEL RIO, CA (April 15, 2024)Patricia Lopez, Clara Howells, Angeles Escoto, and Francis Catano died Tuesday afternoon in a head-on accident.

Officers arrived at the intersection of McHenry Avenue and Hogue Road at approximately 4:00 p.m. According to reports, the driver of a Mitsubishi sedan crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Toyota SUV.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the driver and a male passenger in the Mitsubishi sedan dead at the scene. The deceased driver was later identified as 19-year-old Escoto, with his passenger identified as 23-year-old Catano.
 
Simultaneously, paramedics transported the Toyota driver and an infant passenger to a hospital, where they both succumbed to their injuries. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased occupants of the Toyota as 60-year-old Patricia Lopez of Turlock and 20-month-old Clara Howells.
 
Authorities will release further details about the tragic head-on collision as they become available.
